Being Selfish

Have you ever suffered at the hand of your own selfishness?
We count ourselves the highest, the most valued.
But what is most valuable in this world?
Our fall comes after the rise, so what's the point in rising.
She suffered the mortification because I wanted myself to be saved!
And then the fall came and I realized I was selfish, so I guess I deserved this after all...
Fate will bring me similar mortification, same humiliation or maybe it already has...
